Georgia’s Morgann Leleux Sidelined For SEC Championships

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia sophomore pole vaulter Morgann Leleux of New Iberia, La., will miss the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships while recovering from a procedure to repair a detached retina.

Leleux was diagnosed with a detached retina on January 27 and underwent a repair procedure the following day in Athens.  Her return to competition is unknown at this time.

Leleux is the current national leader in the pole vault after clearing a personal-best height of 14 feet, 9 inches at the Razorback Invitational over the weekend of Jan. 25-26.  She was the runner-up at the 2012 NCAA indoor and outdoor meets and claimed last year’s SEC outdoor title.
