Host of the 2019 Worlds is Doha, the capital of the oil-rich Persian Gulf country, Qatar. Track & Field News will be there with its 17th World Championships tour group; we have an excellent luxury hotel and will have prime seats in Khalifa Stadium (40,000 capacity) for all sessions of the Championships. No question about it, this is a warm part of the world, but the modern stadium and surrounding concourses will be climate-controlled, with temperatures between 75 and 82 degrees.
The Track & Field News tour will include:
Air to/from Doha is not included in the tour package. Tour members obtain their own air and provide T&FN with their itineraries so we can arrange your transportation to and from the hotel. At this writing, air to Doha from Los Angeles, for instance, costs less than air to Europe.
*A subway system is currently under construction. If finished in time, we will use the subway to get to the stadium. Otherwise, we’ll provide busing to/from the stadium.
The City Center Rotana is connected to a huge shopping mall, with two other hotels, and you’ll have very many convenient options for dining and shopping. English is widely spoken and understood. Qatar is friendly toward the U.S. and hosts an air base which is the regional HQ of the U.S. Central Command housing more than 10,000 Americans.
The Tour Price: The projected tour price is $3,990 per person, double occupancy. However, if busing has to be provided, it will be more like $4,250/person. Single supplement, $875.
Current Deposit: $1,000 per person. To join us for Doha 2019, send your check or credit card information to Track & Field News Tours, 2570 W. El Camino Real, Suite 220, Mountain View, CA 94040 or call 650/948-8188 to sign up or for more information.
