5200 meters, then Keflezighi on the next back stretch. There are still

takes lead followed by Brad Hauser, Keflezighi, Abdi, Julian, Jurcevich
after 6K.
After a 66.8 lap, Keflezighi
takes the lead. Things are stringing out. The top 4 are Meb, Culpepper,
Brad Hauser, Abdi and Julian. Meb runs a 66.5 lap and breaks from the
group. Abdiraman tries to follow but Meb is pulling away.
It's a 64.8 lap for Meb as
he hits 7 to go. Abdirahman has followed the break. He continues to
build his lead with a 65.8 lap as those behind are running 67-range
laps.
At 8K (22:33.79 for Keflezighi,
another 65.8), Brad Hauser and Culpepper pass Abdirahaman, who appears
tired. Keflezighi continues to blast away with 4 laps left (23:39).
Suddenly Brad Hauser is fading
and Culpepper is pulling awasy from Abirahman.

go. Culpepper continues to run strongly in 2nd.
Culpepper closes on Meb as
both open up on the last lap. In the final homestretch in a sudden burst
of final speed (a 29.0 last 200, 60.1 last 400) Culpepper catches Keflezighi
at the line
catches him almost, that is, as Keflezighi clocks
28:03.32 to Culpepper's 28:03.35. Both achieve the Olympic A standard.
Third is Abdirahman in 28:19.08.
Shawn Found is 4th in 28:33.73
after a strong finish.
