Final

High school star Lashinda Demus from California led early, up until at least hurdle 5, but nicked 7, losing her momentum. Off the turn, defending champ Sandra Glover pulled away to win in a slowish 55.08. No. 2 all-time Tonja Buford-Bailey hurdled well down the stretch to finish 2nd in 55.99.

While the South Carolina-bound Demus faded to 5th in 56.51 (still 8th best HS time ever), Harvard's Brenda Taylor passed Michelle Johnson off the last hurdle to grap 3rd 55.99-56.21.

HEATS
Headwinds of around 10mph blew down the backstretch and slowed prelim times. Seville Worlds 5th-placer Michelle Johnson caught a lull and sped 55.87 in heat 1, ahead of NCAA winner Brenda Taylor (56.50) and veteran Sandra Farmer-Patrick (56.87).Then the wind kicked up and Olympian Sandra Glover was held to 56.23 in winning heat 2, while collegians Ysanne Williams (57.34) and Frances Santin (57.45) used their 800 strength to take the other prelims.

Notably qualifying was prep 300H record setter Lashinda Demus, 2nd in heat 2 (57.06) behind Glover.
