WOMEN'S DISCUS FINAL

Sydney teammates Seilala Sua and Suzy Powell have duelled several times this season, Sua just missing the American Record with her early-season 216-2. They should take the top 2 slots. Sua is shooting for her fourth U.S. title in a row; Powell won in '96.

But if any thrower is primed to upset it's Kris Kuehl, their fellow Olympian last year. She added more than 7 feet to her PR last year with her 214-4 best and this season,she has hit 214-1. But winds in Hayward Field can be notoriously fickle, sometimes helpful but sometimes not.

That experienced trio could get a challenge from '96 Olympian Aretha Hill, who claims a 215-3 PR from 1998 but who has thrown 202-3 this year. All other entrants have PRs below 200 feet.
