2000 T&FN WORLD RANKING
LEADERS
Track & Field News has
been in the World Rankings business for more than 50 years, and our
annual ratings are regarded the world over as the definitive work on
the subject.
In generating our Rankings,
our international panel of experts weighs three categories, in descending
order of importance: honors won, head-to-head record, actual marks.
With marks being the least important category, simply running fast,
jumping high or throwing far isn't enough.
For the complete list of
10-deep rankings in each event (with deep seasonal records for each
ranker), check out the February 2001 issue of T&FN.
