Georgia’s Morgann Leleux Sidelined For SEC Championships
ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia sophomore pole vaulter
Morgann Leleux of New Iberia, La., will miss the Southeastern Conference Indoor
Championships while recovering from a procedure to repair a detached retina.
Leleux was diagnosed with a detached retina on January 27
and underwent a repair procedure the following day in Athens. Her return to competition is unknown at this
time.
Leleux is the current national leader in the pole vault
after clearing a personal-best height of 14 feet, 9 inches at the Razorback
Invitational over the weekend of Jan. 25-26.
She was the runner-up at the 2012 NCAA indoor and outdoor meets and
claimed last year’s SEC outdoor title.
