75.68 by Wlodarczyk is the best throw in qualifying round of Olympic HT
It is also the second longest throw in the Olympic HT

76.34 from 2008 is the Olympic WHT record, while 73.92 also from 2008 is the best throw in qualifying round

Eaton set new Olympic Decathlon best 100m of 10.35

Previously, the fastest 100m during Olympic Decathlon was 10.41 by Bill Toomey from back in 1968

SP

16.47 by Karpov is almost the longest SP in Olympic Decathlon. The record is 16.53 by Pogorelov in 2008

5000m qualifying  

5000m qualifying  

13:15.15 is the fastest qualification time for Olympic 5000m.

Previous record in qualifying round is 13:18.94 in 2 rounds case (heat and final)
and 13:22.44 in semi of 3 round case (heat, semi and final)

13:26.16 is the slowest time that made the final.  
That time would have made the final in every Olympics except1988 and 2004
In 1988 13:25.25 was required, while 13:24.98 was required in 2004
