44.43 by Jonathan Borlee is the second fastest time in heat of 400m in OG;

44.25 by Alvin Harrison from 1996 is the record

Note that Harrison run in the first of 4 rounds, while Borlee is first of 3 rounds.

M100m 1st round

9.97 by Gatlin is the fastest first round of 100m in OG; previous fastest was 10.02 by Crawford from 2004

Then it got faster.

9.88 by Bailey is the fastest first round of 100m in OG

This is faster than fastest quarter final in OG, 9.89 by Crawford in 2004

Comparison may be valid because 100m in 2012 OG is contested in 3 rounds.

And 9.88 is almost fast as fastest QF in World Championships (9.87 by Boldon in 1997)

55.87 by Nana Djimour better longest JT in OG during Heptathlon

It bettered 55.70 by Shouaa from 1996 Atlanta Games.

Then the record was bettered with 56.96 by Ifadidou, the longest JT during any Heptathlon.
