Breaux Greer Journal- Under The Knife And On The Mend

Bookmark and Share

So here I am now after being as active as possible without an ACL. This was the longest year ever and one of the best years for me so far. I am the new owner of an ACL as of 3 weeks ago. So far, in the first week of my new ACL, 1 argument with the rehab specialist and 1 concert 3 days after surgery. First, the doctors and rehab specialist said I needed to be on crutches for a few weeks but I never needed them. What do they know.....they are specialists. However, the doctor said it is the best post surgery recovery he has ever seen. Lucky me! I am still trying to take it slow for investment reasons and I also remember what it feels like throwing without one. It sucks a little bit o' ass!

2 days after surgery I played a gig for a few hunded people and it went great. Ok, so it's not an arena but it will do. I would rather play house parties anyway. It was our best show (I think mainly) because I was jacked off of pain killers. I started to jump around but realized quick that I probably shouldn't be the stage freak. I honestly only remember pieces of the show with the morphine traces still kicking. I wasn't feeling real stoked about anything eventhough I was numb for the show. Oh, I forgot to tell you that we suck but we have a unbelievable time playing anyway. I actually remembered all of the words. That is a bad sign, you know the type of musician that play unbelievable on drugs and can't play great without it. Maybe I just jinxed myself. Anyway, this is what I stay busy doing since I have to stay grounded for a while. Not drugs but music.....and a ton of rehab! Well, after re-reading this I am glad I am coming across as a freak but that's me. Till next time....it rubs the lotion on it's skin!

OUR TIME TO SHINE,

BREAUX
