I thought Liu and Trammel would be right behind Johnson but of course Johnson is gone, and Trammel didn't look that good in the QF's.
There are definitely medals up for grabs here.

I guess technically, if heat 2 only had 3 finishers, would they take Ross on time? Highly unlikely scenario, of course.

Charles Allen has PBed in every race here!
A good day for Canada as both Allen and Douma-Hassar have advanced to the finals. It's the little things you know! :)

Wow- Doucoure 13.06 to take heat 2 (Tramell 2nd to easily qualify).
What is Doucoure's PB anyway?

That is Doucoure's PB. He set a PB (and broke Caristan's national record) in the first round with 13.18. Now he's just ran a good deal faster - 13.06!!

Ross obviously unlucky to get in the faster of the two heats (his 13.30 would have advanced in Heat 2)- but then he probably wasn't a medal contender anyay.

Trammell interviewed on SVT just now: "I feel great. I was disappointed Johnson fell yesterday, because he has been around for so long, and he is my former training partner. We were hoping for a US sweep, but now I will have to pick up the ball and go with it."

Charles Allen clobbered a lot of hurdles. He's only 5-9/160 and self-coached. Pretty nice surprise for Canada that 13.23 and berth in the final.

Big up to Charles Allen! His third PB of the Games. Wicked!!!

We (Canadians) definitely need to throw Charles' performance in the faces of the COC. If he wasn't on the relay team, they weren't going to send him.

I hope they can get someone else to run his leg though seeing as he could be in the mix for the medals. Not sure if a 4x100 is a good thing before a 110mH final.

5 FRA DOUCOURE Ladji 13.06 NR Q had set a new French Record of 13,18 in the quarters, so he is on a big roll.

Doucoure trained in the US during the winter. Ran in a couple of indoor meets before returning to France.

Let's hope they have their priorities straight but I'm not optimistic. Maybe he should just refuse?
