Just taking the better mark from her OT and OG performances, her score was

i once read that JJK took it easy on the indianapolis 800m to ensure that she broke the world record, but not enough that she wouldnt break it again in Seoul - if she had run 2:08 like she did in seoul instead of 2:20 or whatever it was at the trials she would have added 250+ points onto her 7215!

note to jess ennis - what left Jackie behind her OT score in Seoul was a 1.86 high jump vs a 1.93 HJ at the trials - this could be the difference in your score this weekend so go for 1.90++++ in the high jump!

I remember thinking that Flo Jo adopted a similar approach in the 200 - she seemed to be running well within herself and doing just enough to win. Presumably Bobby Kersee's thinking was that world records at Seoul would make a bigger impression.
