2011 (17)>2012 (18) = 1.73
2012 (18)>2013 (19) = 2.70 [edit to correct miscalculation.]

Wow! The steadiness of her improvement, especially at these ages, is REMARKABLE! It portends (no jinx!) continued success. Count me in as one who thought she'd end up as a mid-teen phenom with no pay-off later.
Big fan NOW!!!

I think that the last interval, with its big jump, reflects 'going pro' and devoting full time and getting professional coaching and all the rest. Of course, the other component is that she is running on faster tracks, in general.

How about the fact that she set two personal bests of more than a second this season alone?

While the US commentators rarely do or say anything we hard core fans like I must give props to (Masback I think) who pointed out that Cains amazing season had almost completely taken up the spotlight and that Wilson deserved some props for what she had done this year. In this case I must strongly concur. Wilson has had an amazing season, and it would be really great to have both her and Montano competing at a high level for many more years.

^^ Agree. And would add Martinez (at this distance & 1500). Also, among USA Jrs in this event, there is Amy Weissenbach -- same age as Wilson -- she ran an a-t top 10 USA jr 800 this year, which in most other years would have garnered her some attention here.

One other note on Wilson: If I have updated correctly for myself the USA a-t Jr list at 800m, Wilson has in addition to the USA Jr record, a total of 6 of the top 10 performances on that a-t list. Add to that Cain's & Weissenbach's outstanding 800 PBs this year, and only two of the a-t top 10 USA Jrs on the top 10 performance list are from the "old days" -- Kim Gallagher's time from 1982, & Kathy Weston's time from 1976.
