Todd Bennett, the British runner who set the World indoor 400 record in 1985 at 45.56, has died at age 51 after a 6 month battle with cancer.
Athletics Weekly has reported his passing, and has put up links to videos of that record on Twitter.

Todd Bennett has died

The BBC has announced that Todd Bennett has died of cancer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/athletics/23341948.

He was only 51. That's really sad news. Watching him and Phil Brown run the final two legs of the UK 4x400 relay is one of my childhood memories of athletics.

RIP Todd.

Dreadful news. Saw him race many times, never gave less than his all.

RIP Todd.

It's terribly sad news. He was simply a very nice guy.
