Bo Jackson prep marks

Watching the "30 for 30" show featuring Bo Jackson on ESPN. It's been on several times but I'm just now catching it. His HS track coach described his feats at the state meet in track, "his first love." State record in TJ (did not mention mark), 6-8 in HJ (state record at the time), and although his high school did not have a track, he attempted PV at the state meet. On a borrowed 180 lb.-test pole (Bo weighed 215), Bo went 13-0.

Guessing he also ran some sprints at the state, which was not discussed.

Looking at the state record book, guessing Bo's state records were possibly in the decathlon, which he won twice.

Bo was a great great athlete but I cant imagine that 6'8' was a state HS HJ record anywhere by the early 1980s.

My recollection is that the 'record' refers to it being the best jump in a decath at state level. That's very imaginable
