Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13These commentators are some of the best in the world.
They are extremely knowledgeable about the sport of track and field from the high school level to the professional level.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Has it started yet....
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13
It has been streaming live since 9:30am this morning.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Some impressive performances by Jamaican high school athletes so far.
The future is secure for Jamaican sprinting.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Impressive performances by Yohan Blake and Kemar Baily-Cole in the finals of the mens 4 x 100m. Blake ran the 3rd leg and gave it to anchor Baily Cole who ran a ran a fast/controlled anchor ended up in 38.50
Great run by both athletes.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13The event over? stream is working for me on a Mac/FireFox.
EDIT: Nevermind, works on Safari but for some reason not FireFox. EDIT #2: Forgot how choppy these streams are lol.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13
Meet has been streaming perfectly for me all day.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Excellent meet as usual.
I watched the meet all day from 9:30am this morning until around 9pm tonight. Bolt did not run in the 4 x 400m final. He was substituted with Yohan Blake who ran a fantastic anchor leg in the final just coming up a bit short in 2nd place. Winner had about a 20m lead at the beginning of the anchor leg. The most impressive performance of the meet though was by Delano Williams on Munro HS who was down 40 meters at the beginning of the anchor leg in the HS boys 4 x 400m and came back and overhauled the leader and won the race. It was just incredible how he did it. Williams won the 100/200 at the Jamaica HS Track and Field Champs last year and he is poised to defend his title next month. He is originally from the Turk and Caicos islands. He anchored Munro's team to victory in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400m at Penn Relays last year. He has tremendous potential for the future and is already courted by Racers to join the group after he finishes HS this year. Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Williams is going to compete for the UK.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13
Yes. He competed at the UK Olympic Trials last summer.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13
Nope. He is going to compete for Turks and Caicos. He ran for the UK because the Turks and Caicos didn't have an Olympic Committee.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13
He'll be back running for Britain in Rio but until then he'll represent TCI
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Had Williams at 44.8 last night. Haven't seen official splits
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13It is now being officially reported as a 44.8 split for Delanon on the 4 x 400m anchor.
That is probably the one of the fastest splits ever for a high school athlete. Especially great seeing that he is a 100/200m runner.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Hubert Lawrence got 44.8 and he's one of the best in the business. I got 44.8 on my watch. Can't check the online video as he isn't in the fram for the first 100m or so
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Think Blake got 44.7, so that just amplify how great a run that was.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13Worth noting that Delano Williams' times aren't unheard of for a 19 year old at any of his preferred distances.
Re: Gibson Relays live from Kingston, Jamaica 2/23/13
