To compare, the US High School Frosh (age 14 or 15?) indoors is 7.47 for 60.
The soph record (age 15-16) is 7.29.

And now some good back and forth in the PV. Silva passed 4.71 even though a first clearance would have kept her in the lead, which went to Savchenko. When Silva made 4.78/15-8, Savchenko passed; Silva has now missed her first at 4.83/15-10. [They now show the height as 4.81/15-9 and - for Savchenko, who must be out (injury?), and Silva with three misses]

Meanwhile, Tia has turned the tables by clearing 1.95 on her first and Emma is down to a third attempt.

IAAF tables have that the same as a 8:05.1 two-mile, although the conversion factor of 1.08. has it as 4:06.16.

Reaffirms what I have felt since last year, this is Rupps year. Confidence gained in Olympics and fire burning in the belly. Rupp will beat Farah this year in at least 1 race and will medal in WC 10k, good shot at gold. Lagat will be saying goodbye to the AR in 5k as well.

Yes. I could see Rupp blasting a 12:45/46 under the right conditions. Even the ageless Lagat cannot do that.

Fraser runs PR in Sweden

Postby jamboy » Thu Feb 21, 2013 2:14 pm

In her 2nd ever indoor race event, Fraser runs another PR. Great progress. If this was August, she would certainly be running a 6.85 :D

Here is the race

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/sport/Fr ... -in-Sweden

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Olympic sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce powered down the track this afternoon to run her personal best of 7.04 seconds in the XL Gala's 60m sprint in Stockholm, Sweden.
