SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Jamaican Fraser-Pryce, the double reigning Olympic 100m champion, will be competing in her first indoor race.
'It will be my first taste of racing indoors and I'm really excited about competing in front of a British crowd again and seeing what I can do over 60m,' she said. 'I have a good start in most of my races so hopefully that will help me competing over a shorter distance.' 'We always seem to bring the best out of each other and I'm looking forward to facing her again and running in front of the passionate British crowd,' said American Jeter, the second fastest woman in history. This is the one i wanted to see ..... I think it will be between Ahoure and SAFP .Im basing my premise off Jeter's last race but lets see what will happen.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!I am really looking forward to seeing this....
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Don't forget about Ryemyen (and Sailer)
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Jeter isn't known as a "great starter" and thus, she will place no higher than 3rd.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Jeter ran a 7.02.... bad starter or not that's an amazing time....
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday! My prediction for the race is as follows
1. Fraser 6.85 2. Ahoure 6.99 3. Jeter 7.05
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Cant wait... Wish them all the best and hope for great competition.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
I bet Fraser Prize doesn't get that.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!I'd be shocked if we saw a sub 7.10 clocking from Fraser-Pryce unless she's been doing some very specific race training. Based on form, Ahoure should win depending on how she reacts to anyone near her in the final 20m. Come on Asha!
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
A WR?
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
With a start like this, she should be easily able to run 6.85 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-dWn2OSEec
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Veronica Campbell would have been a great addition to that field with a PR of 7.00 from 2010 and also ran 7.01 in 2011.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday! Some of the best 60m times ever recorded
6.92(WR) Privalova 6.95 Devers/Marion Jones 6.96 Ottey 6.97 ? 7.00 Veronica Campbell 7.00 Ahoure
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Hopefully, someone will post a live streaming link to the meet on Saturday.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Regardless of jamboys Jamaican love and hard-on SAFP will not world record this weekend.

Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
Ahoure smoked Fraser-Price who wasn't close to Ahoure. Though Shelly-Ann is the happiest 2nd place I ever did see I have to say if Ahoure has the speed endurance to equal her current speed, the world championship could be hers this year.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!1) Ahoure 6.99
2) Fraser 7.09 3) Pierre 7.09 4) Jeter 7.18
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
At least he predicted Ahoure's time correctly
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!I am sure Ahoure now believes she is primed to take the 100m title in Russia this summer. Watch out
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
I doubt Ahoure is being primed for anything as any good coach only keeps their athletes focused on the next race and training if they are going to be successful. Daydreamers don't excute well when it matters. The result for Moscow is certainly in greater doubt now from the almost certain expectation that is a simply runthrough between Jeter and SAFP. Ahoure is looking exceptional. However Outside is different, different part of the year where peaking is essential, championship pressure is different and of course it's a different part of the season and I'm sure Fraiser Price will be at her best and Jeter will be better, however I can't quite shake off the fact Jeter is continuing to perform poorly and is in her 30's. She's have to look closely at her prep and see what isn't working now and change something. What was interesting was it looked like Ahoure was pulling away from SAFP for the whole race. However I've felt SAFP isn't quite as quick at the start as she once was but has better speed endurance from the fact that she targeted the 200m last year and the changes with age. Hence why I doubt she can world record now at 60m. Her better chances would have been in 2009/10 I think.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
It was Fraser's first indoor race ever. She did not specifically train for this "indoor season" to peak and run fast times like Ahoure obviously has. Most of the MVP club at this stage in the stage are working on endurance/overdistance type training and not specifically starts and speed at this stage of the game. Fraser's only major goal for 2013 is to take the 100m title in Russia. Ahoure will break apart horribly once the outdoor season begins and the big guns(Fraser, Jeter, Veronica) are on form and she gets pressured from left and right. Good race by Ahoure however. I still don't see her on the medal stand however. She might make the final in Russia however. I have seen Jeter struggle at times on the circuit and come back banging when it comes to championships. You don't need to worry about her. Jeter will be on the medal stand(silver) come summer.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!http://www.runnerspace.com/video.php?vi ... -Prix-2013
ahoure said originally not planning indoors in the interview at boston said they were just testing form safp is always there when it counts jeter looks like she needs more work is ahoure doing world indoor meet... she seems hppy looking towrd moscow give her bronze now, and i think shed take it
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
If you did a little bit of research Ahoure hasn't trained for the indoor season either. If you are basing her performance on that assumption it would imply you don't know enough about Murielle Ahoure or even the majority of athletes going to Moscow as most of them the indoor season is a start towards the outdoors one and most don't do anything majorily specific. Most of the non-European world do not have an indoors season so I doubt any of them have trained.
I can see Ahoure on the medal stand. That doesn't mean she'll make it, there is more competition than you indicate though.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
There is no world indoor meet.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Ahoure looked like she was continuing to move away from the field in Birmingham, a traditionally fast starter, it will be interesting to see how this translates for her outdoor season and if she can keep going through the full 100m.
Her season reminds me a little of Tianna Madison last year who did so well to run third behind Ahoure in Istanbal. Madison ended up running 10.85 in the London final and I think Ahoure could get close to that time this year. Ahoure has the benefit of near automatic entry to Moscow where her main challengers from the US and JAM will have trials to contend with, apart from Jeter who has a bye. Looking at Jeter's indoor form, I wonder if that auto entry to Moscow is the reason why she's not as sharp as you'd expect, taking longer to prepare for Worlds in a post Olympic year.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Speedster you literally took the words right from my mouth when you said her season reminds you of Tianna Madison last year. Its very rare I watch a video and someone actually looks fast. Like you said it looked like her next 40 could have been something special as well. I will be shocked if she doesnt run in the 10.8x at least. 7 flat and sub 7 with splashes of 7 lows shows consistent starting ability this girl is gonna be something.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
What Madison does well is hold her form from 60-100m, she looked great in london. Ahoure's form slipped a little in Istanbul when VCB got along side her and just pipped her for the win in what was a great race. If Ahoure can stay calm in the final part of her race then I think 10.8 is hers.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
Don't be too sure about that...a couple years ago, Leverne Jones Ferrett was burning up the track and where is she now?
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday! She's a mother of one who returned to run 7.05 (2nd best time) 11.07 PB, 22.62 (5th best) last year...but I know where you're going. We'll just have to wait and see how she goes outdoors.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!Laverne Jones Ferrett is an anomaly. If someone has a 6.97 and a 51.47 I would not only expect 10.8x but sub 22.
As for Ahoure her start is even sharper this year than it was last year. She looked strong right up until the line as well. Last year was her break out year for the most part and i think her and her coach are probably working on the weak spots from last year. If she can hold her form outdoors should should duplicate Tianna Madison's olympic year and be a strong medal contender.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
But she does not really have a 6.97 in many people's assessment.
Re: SAFP vs Jeter vs Ahoure 60m Birmingham NIA on Saturday!
There have been a few indoor speedsters over that years that have not been able to tranfer that speed outdoors.
