Duel at the Armory: Hasay vs Cain

It could turn out to be a dud, but it also might be one of the THE most fascinating duels (one-on-one's) of tonight's Millrose Games.
Mary Cain, the current HS phenom, vs Jordan Hasay, the former HS phenom.
I know, there are several others in the race who could beat BOTH of them.
But they could also LOSE to both of them.

Hasay says she's ready to PR, and Cain's coach says she's ready to run 4:25, far faster than Hasay has ever run.

Yes, this could be the CLASSIC duel of the meet!!

P.S. I almost feel sorry for Hasay......losing her records to Cain, and now in danger of being beaten by someone five years younger!

2012 was a downyear for her

she seems back to 2011 form, where she won ncaa 1500 and 5k with her kick

i like bowman 2nd as i think she'll stick closer to reid and cain will sit back a bit too much and rely on her kick

her solo run of 4:34 can be faster

if the pacers do their jobs, hasay should get a pr which is 4:33

cain will kick last 200 can be anywhere from 3to 5th based on how smart she runs

With Salazar prediction of a 4:25.....okay, maybe NOT a "prediction"--more a suggestion.......I'm thinking the pacers might take it out in 65, possibly 64+, then hit maybe 2:12 at 880.

If Cain runs 66-2:14 or thereabouts, she'd be on track (pun intended!!) to run that 4:25 with her kick.

One fear I have is the crowded field!
