What are those popular sports that you hate? And why?
For me it's basketball and tennis. For the former I really find it hard to appreciate a contact sport where only steal is allowed but no tackle
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?I don't know if I "hate" these sports -- and I'm not even sure one of them is sport at all -- but I'll use the "if it's regularly on ESPN, it's a popular sport" definition for purposes of this response. I certainly can't generate any interest in these:
poker bowling billiards auto racing Winter X Games boxing MMA There is of course skill, talent, knowledge, in these activities, and real athleticism in some. I won't begrudge those things, but -- no interest from me.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?I dislike any sports that contain subjectivity in deciding who wins, such as
diving boxing figure skating gymnastics etc.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?Basketball
Baseball NASCAR Golf Boxing MMA
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?Any and all X-Game events.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?
That kinds says it for me.. I don't "hate" any "sport" but have no interest in many that are popular somewhere. hockey, cricket, rugby, lacrosse, ....
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?My five least favorite sports are:
NFL football college football high school football American football Canadian football
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate? Also anything synchronized.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?
I'm with you there and also the X-games. I would add the many new Mickey Mouse sports that keep infesting the Winter Olympics. Some of them probably come from x-games. Also no fan of equestrian events and Curling.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?
Sooo...that means you like lingerie football?
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?Baseball- either to play or to watch. The few games I have attended I took a copy of T&F News to read when I got bored. A quick search showed there are only at most about 11 minutes of actual baseball, with hours of standing, scratching and spitting. Never understood americans who say they don't like futbol (to differentiate from their concussion generator) which has constant action, low scores but love baseball (virtually no action, low scores).
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?Women's beach volleyball, or men's for that matter. Especially when they interfere with coverage of Track and Field or Swimming.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?
Totally agree. It is a hyper-specialized game, and the decision-making is mostly taken out of players' hands. I know both points appeal to some (even "many") people, but they are complete turn off to me.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?NFL
NBA Soccer Purely subjective sports in the olympics
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?
That. If someone can say 'poker' in an earlier post, then I'll add ballroom dancing, billiards, darts, bowling, or anything else that requires a minimum of speed and strength.
Re: What are those popular sports that you hate?
If you wan to talk subjective sports, then add basketball and football and soccer, because the referring is subjective and affects the outcomes of each, although both football and baseball have utilized technology and multiple officials to help. In contrast, soccer seems to be to be thinking about transitioning into the second half of the 1900s, although it is a bit radical of a notion for some of those at the top. As for sports I dislike, there are two categories -- I overall dislike the MMA kind of thing, and I much dislike the addition to the X-Game type of events into the Olympics (and syncro stuff fits under that categorization).
