Demi Omole from Wisconsin was pretty small for a good sprinter -- he ran sub-10w and 10.04 or so wind-legal. He typically was better at 60m than at 100m (no surprise).

6'0"or taller being ideal depends on the position as a 20 year NFL study of RB production says that 5'9" is the "optimal height" for a RB in terms of production. Bracy plays WR but nonetheless the article essentially contradicts what many assume is ideal size for one of the feature positions in football, the RB.

Probably at every position except CB and RB you'd probably see the average height at/above 6'0". WR is probably close but trending towards more height over the last 5-7 years.

The optimal size is whatever size Adrian Peterson is. Actually, it seems like AP, Dickerson and OJ are all 6 foot or so.
