Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]Still getting it with Firefox though not IE (I tried clearing the cache).
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]we have one office machine that keeps getting it in Firefox, but not other machines or other browsers. Haven't discovered the cache-removal secret yet.
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]My machine rebooted (via Microsoft) last night and when I clicked on my short-cut for the Home Page and the Forum I got the warning page. I clicked the 'ignore' and went right to the page, then clicked the Home Page link and did not get the warning page. I have not gotten the warning since the firs fix and run Firefox.

Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]Might that have anything to do with the fact that bots seem to be posting on the Message Boards with greater frequency recently? Or is that another problem?
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]I believe they are totally different things. The arstechnica article is about hackers stealthily placing malware on servers, which isn't the same thing as spambots trolling for addresses.
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]Glad this has been sorted out....
I was getting this message too, and it frightened me away. I was getting withdrawal symptoms!
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]This Java issue is serious, with the Dept of Homeland Security recommending everyone disable their java software. I deleted it completely from my computer. One day later I haven't missed it.
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]Thank you, guru, for adding to the list of things I need to be worried about. Having read the Homeland Security material, and a couple of websites referring to it, I see that I should probably be doing something, but I haven't the slightest idea of what I should do or how I should do it. I don't even know whether I have Java on my computers and, if so, what versions.
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]What browser do you use?
If Firefox, go to tools at the top of the browser, then options, then content. And then unclick java.
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]tandfman - On Windows -
Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program Once your program list populates look for anything under "Java" or "Oracle". Delete it - chances are these days you really dont need it anyway.
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]Aha! Thank you, guru. I'm on my laptop now and I see that I have Java 6 installed. But from what I've read, the problem seems to be with Java 7 and later versions, so I'm going to do nothing. I'll check my desktop later, but that computer is even older than my laptop and probably does not have Java 7.
Re: google has given us clean bill of health [name change]
No, no, no! Java 7 fixed a Java 6 security threat, before it had it's own issues. If you have Java 6 you're doubly exposed. http://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2012/11/ ... 7-blocked/

I listened and got rid of it.
Re: The Website [trackandfieldnews.com] Ahead Contains MalwaIt's back.
Last time this happened I continued on to T&F News discussion threads dozens of times with no ill effects.
Re: The Website [trackandfieldnews.com] Ahead Contains Malwawhat's back? a google warning?
Re: The Website [trackandfieldnews.com] Ahead Contains MalwaYes(google chrome). I chose to ignore it but it told me to enter at my own risk.
Re: The Website [trackandfieldnews.com] Ahead Contains Malwahmm... I'm not getting on my Mac w/ either Safari, Firefox or Chrome.
Re: The Website [trackandfieldnews.com] Ahead Contains MalwaI got it twice in a row, closed it and after returning 1/2 hr. later, no more.
Re: The Website [trackandfieldnews.com] Ahead Contains Malwa
