Wow, a whole 10 days to get one's submission in!

Is there any description or information on what the committees actually do?

Hey this is a big, though not perfect, step in the right direction for USATF.

Honestly, if someone is not sure what a committee does, they should probably not be running for a spot on it... though yes, there should be a place on USATF's website that describes all of these committees just for general knowledge purposes, and I don't think one exists.

Those sound 'interesting' to me, and I have some degree of 'background' in them, but I can't believe they are seriously soliciting 'unknowns from the hinterlands' to telecommute into the meetings . . .

The key thing is to be willing go to the USATF annual meeting during the week after Thanksgiving when all the committees meet. Unless you are an athlete, it is usually at your own nickel although the expense is considered a tax-deductible charitable contribution. The 2013 annual meeting is in Indianapolis and 2014 is in Anaheim.
