Good time for her . As I said in an earlier thread I expect her to challenge Fraser price over 60m this season and I won't be surprise if she hands SAFP a defeat or 2 if they line up against each other .

Keep dreaming. A fit Fraser will never lose to 60m to Ahoure. Fraser is a WR waiting to happen in the womens 60m. A fit Fraser can easily run a 6.85 besting the 6.92 WR of Irina Privalova.

I think it's going to be an interesting race. I was at the meet when Ahoure ran 7.00. I think she could have ran faster with more competition. I think it is very possible that she could give SAFP a good fight in the 60m.

lmao. I don't think 'easily' is quite an accurate word to use when referring to a woman running 6.85, even if it's Shelly we're talking about. 7.10 maybe, 6.85 no.
Anyway, since this is a thread about Ahoure, all credit to her for her WL of 7.00, an incredible time no matter what time of the season it is. If she maintains this fitness throughout the season she WILL be a force to be reckoned with, no matter who(ehem) it is.

That was August 2009, we're talking winter 2013. I'd have to see any indication that she's in 6.8/6.9 form THIS SEASON. And even if she is, it won't be easy, let alone "easy". Don't underestimate how great a feat running 7 flat is, which is why I give props to Ahoure.
Of course I'd need to see more races from AHoure, but if she's in the form I hope she's in, could we see her hit sub 10.9 this year?

GASP It never occurred to me! Thank you for imparting such wisdom oh royal fanboy.
Still doesn't mean she'll approach this 'easy' 6.85.
But Ahoure on the other hand.... !!!!
When Ahoure can "approach" the medal stand in a major championship, I will give credit then.
When SHelly registers a time equal or faster than Ahoure THIS SEASON and defeats her in competiiton THIS SEASON, I'll give her credit. And instead of puking all over AHoure's accomplishment, make a separate thread praising your yardie girl

I'm not so sure, Fraser-Prices's best ever 60m split in her fastest race was 6.88s and she hasn't run that fast since, I can't see a 9.85 or lower and I doubt she'll break the world record (though it isn't beyond her). While she'll train reasonably for the indoor season, her main goal will be the World Championships, not the 60m world record. I would also wager that SAFPs start isn't quite as rocket fast now, she is quoted as focusing on adding the 200m so speed endurance is the game. So while she might better her 100m times her first 60m might be a tad slower as she is now getting to the latter end of her mid 20's.

Ditto! I wouldn't sleep on Ahoure, especially if she continues to run the way she is running. I witnessed the race; I have a good feeling her next race will be much faster.
I think this makes about the 100th time that Jammmin/notorious/jamboy has posted that a Jamaican sprinter was just "jogging" whenever the athlete didn't run a time that was expected or when the sprinter beat an American athlete, but in this case it appears that Shelly-Ann did shut it down really early, so this time I think jamboy makes a good point... For anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to, the link below is to the "trackalerts" video of SAFP's recent race, and is the link that the trackalerts site uses. If it's a violation to post it, the second link is to the trackalerts video page where the video can be found. Hopefully neither link is a violation, since the video was posted on youtube by trackalerts.

SAFP better watch out!
Fraser has absolutely nothing to worry about. Trust me.
