Sad news about Kim Colins brother He swore he won't compete for for St Kitts again. I hope he is qualified for someone else. That would be a sad way to bring his career to a close.
It's her first race for the season Indoor season and the first since 2011 so she would understandably be a bit sluggish to say the least. I believe she is probably just going back to the formula that brought her to her 10.63 and her WC gold medal. Last year was the only year that she didn't run indoor since her breakthrough year in 2009.
Also Sailer has been in great form thus far, she has already ran a 7.20, she seems likely to PB in the 60 this year it seems. It's interesting to see how well she competes even with her if she every fixed her horrible form.
lol, was she sleeping in the blocks or just sluggish??
Sailer was out like a bullet. To be fair she said Jeter was the far superior athlete at the end and doesn't think taht makes her better than her. Which is also possibly part of the trouble with European sprinting, the Athletes don't believe they can go faster than their North American counterparts.

Interestingly about that race.... Sailer was going away in that race....

What do you think? Is Sailer on the up or Jeter on the slide?
Sailer is on the up.... Jeter on the other hand, there is no way to say for sure if she is on the slide. She did not run as well as I expected her to, that being said lets take into consideration that:
1) Jeter isn't known for her 60m prowess (although I did expect at least a 6.20 from her) 2) This is the first Jeter is running an indoor 60m since 2011 and in 2011 she didn't run that much 60m.

wow! Not bad for one who is nearly a senior citizen!
I haven't seen results, etc. as yet -- what was his time? Other top finishers? thanks!
Lagat 7:53.36, Choge 7:54.68. He looked really sharp. I can't wait to see what he does in Karlsruhe in a paced race against Choge again plus the likes of Alamirew too.

You expected her to break the men's world record as well as the women's?
Wow, you have some excessively high expectations of Jeter.

From the waist down Sailer looks pretty good, her arms are very tight and all over the place. Funny how no one has tried to correct this with her, given the technical coaching she'd have access to.

Sailer will be a distant memory when the outdoor season begins.
I'm sure in the grand scheme of things this race won't be significant, however that is a very average time from Jeter. I'm sure if Yohan Blake had lost by over a tenth to Chambers or Lemaitre there would be a flurry of debates and this is no different.
I thought Jeter looked sluggish, big but not as conditioned as usual and her face was quite puffy (though that could just have been an impression because of her new weave). But let's be real here, Sailer was pulling away from her. If I were Jeter I'd end my indoor season and knuckle down for the summer. The second fastest woman in history should not be losing by over a tenth to an 11.0 woman, who, despite having pedigree, is not amazing over 60m.
