Ive had a thought to compile a few lists of people who are at either ends of breaking certain barriers in different ways in events. The usual sub 10, sub 20, sub 45 ie ie but i want to know whos lets say the tallest and smallest man to break 10, the youngest to first break the barrier and the oldest to ever break the barrier. the first man to break 10 and the last man to break 10 for the first time.
off hand i would guess lerone clarke is the smallest and usain bolt is the tallest
you see how this works feel free to add your own " want to knows" and events
smallest/tallest Younest/oldest (when first breaking 10) first(jim hines obviously)/last to do so for the first time youngest to olympic gold medal/Oldest worlds first man to break 9.90/the last
smallest/tallest Younest/oldest (when first breaking 10) first(jim hines obviously)/last to do so for the first time youngest to olympic gold medal/Oldest worlds first man to break 9.90/the last
ie ie im sure you get the picture
Oldest olympic champ: Linford Christie. Also oldest WC winner 1992-1993. Oldest sub 10: Christie or Darvis Patton. Patton was 35 last season and Christie was born in 1960. Can't remember if he ran sub 10 in 1996. He did in 1995 for sure. Youngest sub 10. Kemar Bailey Cole? Not sure at all.

Linford Christie is the oldest to run sub-10. He ran 9.97 on Sep. 23, 1995, when he was 35 and about 5 months.
Patton just turned 35 in December 2012, and thus was still 34 when he ran his last sub-10.
