And here's your Trivia question:
Which Oly event has the oldest Boy's HSR (who, what, where, when?). It's from the 70s.
Girl's? (same year)

Day of AnnualsStat fan that I am, today is a red-letter day as both the T&FN Annual issue arrived and the HS Annual did too (thank you, Mssrs. Hill and Shepard!). Later in the spring the USATF and ATFS Annuals come out. I must be inherently anti-social, because I enjoy looking through these as much as going to a really good meet!

Re: Day of AnnualsI'll give you Lindgren 10K and Maxie 400H. I could not give you when and where if my life depended on it.
Re: Day of Annuals
GL only holds the 3Mile (and inferior to Rupp's 5K) - not an Oly event. LM is 1984 - wrong decade
Re: Day of AnnualsThe Marathon.
Mitch Kingery. 2:23:47. Burlingame CA February 11, 1973. Oldest TRACK (or FIELD) event? 10,000 Meters. Rudy Chapa. 28:32.7. Des Moines IA. April 24, 1976. (Girls) LJ Kathy McMillan. 22-3. Westwood CA June 12, 1976. Oldest girls TRACK event is: 10,000 Meters. Mary Shea. 32:52.5. Walnut CA. June 15,1979. (Beats by ONE DAY the 12.95 100H of Candy Young!!) Speaking of Annuals, I want to buy (if it's out) the 2013 edition of TAFWA All Time World Indoor List. I bought the 2011 edition from Ed Gordon. Do you know the contact person (& snail mail address) and price?? Also, the price of the 2013 HS Annual. It was $12 last year. Same??
Re: Day of Annuals
Nope - broken 4 years later.
Re: Day of AnnualsYes, Oregon's Clancy Devery, 2:23:05 at Trail's End Marathon, 1977. I ran the race the previous year.
Re: Day of Annuals
Certainly not Lindgren as Gerry went to High School in the early-mid 60's. He had already graduated from WSU when I arrived there in 1970. What about Michael Carter?
