Video RequestsDo we have a video request thread? If not then this will be it.
Does anyone have vids of the olympic semi's that featured Dee Dee Trotter, Krivoshapka, and Novlene? It is so hard to find. Also if anyone has Krivoshapka's heat at the oly's that would be great as well. I can't find it on the nbcolympics.com site so i dont know where else to look.
Re: Video RequestsRaw feed(no commentary). Womens 400 Semis begin at roughly 1:10:00

Re: Video RequestsHere is with British commentary, you can watch in hd

Re: Video Requestswe posted this extensive collection of BBC links to the front page several weeks back

Re: Video RequestsThanks so much. I really appreciate the excitement Krivoshapka brings to the 400. Her running style is not always reliable but there is always the chance that she will get it right and hit it big like she did when she ran 49.16 at Russian Champs. She seemed to have run the race just as hard at Russian Champs but may have been in better shape.
Re: Video RequestsThis may seem like a minor point, but none of the exellent clips from the London OG that GH referred to are those of the BBC.
They are instead clips from OBS [Olympic Broadcast Services] who had as commentators Peter Matthews (his voice you hear as the lead commentator for the men's 800], Stuart Storey [former GB Olympian at 110h - 1968] and John Trower [Javelin]. If you do see any clips of the BBC, they are led by the excellent Steve Cram, with Paul Dickenson [OG HTer 1976/80], Brendan Foster and others in support
Re: Video RequestsIs there a video of Irina Privalova's 400m hurdles gold form Sydney 2000? I was curious to watch it after Natalya Antyukh's gold medal in the summer.
Re: Video RequestsBig thanks to the poster* who sent me the Privalova clip. Very generous of you mate thanks
*He contacted me by PM so I dodn't know if he wanted to be known.
Re: Video Requestsdoes anyone have or know where to find the zurich racei n 09 where Sanya beat Allyson by like a whole second? I cant find it on youtube anymore.
Re: Video Requestsdoes anyone have Sanya's 22.09 from this year? Also i remember in 2008 summer before the olympics Allyson had a really bad 200 meter race where she ran in the 23's? Does anyone know the story behind that or have the video?
Re: Video Requests
Unfortunately Crammy got carried away with hysteria which in a commentator, who is a great favourite of mine was inexcusable during Mos last laps and the Olympic Integrated OBS coverage referred to was much preferable and more balanced .They kept themselves under control. And whilst having a little moan, I thought the BBC's showing of our two back up people in the Arena studio behaved like over hysterical children, namely, Jackson and Denise Lewis. MJ looked suitably unimpressed; far too nationalistic at times and not just the track and field. Screaming out loud in hysterical way like in the Rowing etc was way over the top for professionals.
Re: Video Requests
I think it's very unlikely this will happen outside of the RUS champs
Re: Video Requests
That wasn't the actual coverage they just showed it afterward for a laugh
Re: Video Requests
Mump are you saying that Russian clocks are rigged or that she only performs well in familiar environments or can get away with performance enhancers at home? It has to be one of the three. However i am feeling this convo should probably happen in another thread. I think i made a thread called " Russians fast on times short on medals">
Re: Video RequestsAnybody have Sally Gunnell's world record (British commentary) from 1993?
Re: Video RequestsI have the SRR 22.09 from New York
Re: Video RequestsDoes anyone have the video when Sanya ran on Texas 4x400 and broke the collegiate record at Texas relays 04?
Re: Video Requests
Is it the full video? If you have please post it. I have only seen bad quality footage of maybe the last 50 meters.
Re: Video Requests
I know that the Russian champs are under suspicius but Tatyana Firova and Kseniya Ustalova both dipped under 50 seconds at the 2010 European championships at Barcelona to get gold and silver, Krivoshapka was 3rd and is normally capable of beating them and should be getting faster. But she has to sort out her tactics, how many times has she shot off waaaaaaay to fast to be easily over hauled in the final straight?
Re: Video RequestsSorry fasttrack, I just realized that I don't have the woman's 200 with Sanya Richards Ross from the New York meet. I have the 2 hours of BBC televised coverage, as probably many people on here do, but I didn't realize they didn't include the race in their coverage. Sorry for the mix-up.
Re: Video Requests
I am starting to wonder if that race was telivised anywhere. Has anyone even seen a clear full vid of it?
Re: Video Requests
She needs to run on the circuit more I think. If she were to run on the circuit more against the likes of SRR, Felix, Williams-Mills, Montsho, Ohogoru, etc. I think she would be more able to gauge herself.
Re: Video Requests
Indeed. Firova is hardly the greatest 400m runner (though I'm a big fan of hers) but she is the one Russian who tends to run a sensible 400m, sometimes too sensible but in complete contrast to virtually all other Russian 400m Runners with Krivoshapka and Gushchina being key multiple offenders, but I'm sure I see Firova on the circuit far more often than anyother Russian (unless I'm mistaken). In 2010 she got it right and became European champion has been on the ball since. However Russians are quite insular in T&F and seem to value their internal races a lot and lose the plot once they venture outside.
Re: Video RequestsKeep the Russian talks to a minimum on this thread unless it is a vid request. There is a thread called Russians fast on times short on medals.
Re: Video RequestsOnce again does anyone have Allyson Felix race in 2008 the one where she did really bad leading up to the olympic games? She ran like a 23.0x and everyone was wondering if she was injured. I want to see it again. Someone must have it.
Re: Video RequestsAnyone know where to get the complete NBC coverage of the Penn relays?? Let me know please.
