46. What city has been called the Manchester of Japan?

(and no, I don't think it has anything to do with a soccer club)

Once that was a trick question in my geography class, though little different- what 4 "letter B" national capitals does it pass through (in my language Vienna begins with B).

India is correct. The Ashoka Chakra represents the laws of Dharma, represented in both Hinduism and Buddhism, both of which began in India.

I had no idea I just guessed that the wheel on the Indian flag was the one GH was referring to.

Anyway, I have now looked it up and discovered that Gandhi designed the original spinning wheel flag but that was not acceptable to the Indian Congress.

And that will most definitely be wrong because Sikkim became a state of India in 1975!

I was wondering about that. (How could there be a real nation that was not an IAAF member?) But I just didn't think it was likely that a predominantly Hindu nation would have a Buddhist symbol on its flag and I couldn't think of any other possibilities in that region.

Don't worry. I didn't have a clue either. I just guessed the thing in the middle was a wheel and the words Ashoka Chakra sounded Indian to me. Or is it that Hindu? Or is that Buddhist? Or am I taking a risk here and opening up another Anthony Treacher like discussion topic.
