If there are any Norwegians on this MB, you probably have heard of Monika Korra, and know her story.
She was a National Junior champion runner in 2008 in Norway.
She was recruited by SMU, and moved there to begin her freshman year, to compete in track and cross country.
But in December 2009, she was brutally raped by 3 men in Dallas.
She survived, and chose to tell her story, becoming a rare (1 in 400, the US Justice system says!!) survivor who is willing to become a public face by revealing her true name and identity.
She kept a detailed journal, starting 2 days after the attacks, and is now writing a book, and wants to work as a rape counselor.
She loves running, and is back at it.
There is a wonderful 22 minute documentary video done by ESPN, which is well worth seeing.
Just Google her name, and you'll come up with it.
While she's back running....She said she began by doing 10 minutes, and now is running full time again......nothing was mentioned of her times or results.
Does anyone, from Norway or associated with SMU, know anything of her times or results, before and after the brutal attacks in 2009??
BTW, the 3 men (MONSTERS!!) were captured, and are now serving from 10 to 25 years in prison!! She testified at their trials.
