I've taken the hint that one ran with something in his hand as a relay medalist. Figuring the age of the younger one, it would be either the 60, 64, or 68 Olympics. I read the Rome book, and I think that Germany won the men's 4x1, so that is a possibility. I think that the US swept the men's relay medals in 64 and 68. If it is Germany's 4x1, I have no idea who ran on it other than Hary. The BC initials doesn't help me much.
It could be a woman, though I doubt it. Notwithstanding, the quote "in his hand." I'm not sure that women had 4x4 in those years, and I'm pretty sure that the US won the 4x1 in 60. Not as sure about 64 and 68.
