1952 High School rankingsAnyone know if there are national rankings/lists for 1952? We are working on a hall of fame presentation at the local high school. An athlete had a 189+ javelin throw to win the state title. It was thought at the time that it was the third-best throw in the U.S. that year. We are trying to get verification of that.
Re: 1952 High School rankings189-8 1/4 by Turner of Walla Walla was the nation's leading throw in 1952 according to the Official NCAA Track & Field Guide (which included prep bests)
Re: 1952 High School rankingsThe final T&FN lists for the year show Turner 3rd, behind Bob Childress (Byrd, Shreveport, La) 195-8, and Woolfolk (Protection, Ks) 190-10 1/4.
The lists in the NCAA guides are notoriously incomplete as they include marks only from NFHS members and only scholastic meets of at least five teams. Beyond those restrictions, the lists are often missing marks from meets other than the state finals.

Name Woolfolk rang a bell... threw 201-11.5 as frosh at Okla A&M in 1953.

Any way to access those lists other than having the original magazine?
