I hope the mods take their jobs seriously and ban you right along with Atanvarno for this incredibly dumb comment.

Carmelita Jeter's obvious association with Mark Block leaves a bad taste but is less important than the point that we all should do well to be less awed by all these performances which look like they are from another planet.

Biana Knight ran two great legs for the US and showed that it's how fast the baton moves around the track and not how fast the legs are being run.

The policy for discussion on this board is 'innocent until some kind of announcement by an agency responsible for such announcements'.
History has shown that until that time, such speculation is poisonous to friendly discussion and usually spins downward into pointless name calling. That's why it's banned.

For those who just can't keep themselves from such speculation, there are other boards than this one where people of like mind will be happy to spread rumors 'til the cows come home. The identify of those other boards are mentioned here from time to time.

Not bad for Jeter, either. A medal of each color, and a WR bonus.

Felix is setting herself up for 3 gold medals and 1 5th place finish...

The baton the USA used should be placed in the National Museum of Historic Artifacts!!
Or maybe the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!

Because those girls ROCKED and ROLLED!!!

It wasn't directed at you, as you did not say you shared that view. My question stands.

Since apparently it is directed at specific individuals, take it off-line with a PM to those you have in mind. The rest of us don't need to hear it.

I cant believe ppl on this board are questioning Jeter . How many drug test has she had ? .You know i would hate to think it was any of us Jamaicans questioning her cause if someone had done it to our athletes we would have gotten on our high horse so please just stop judging ppl and congratulate them .Innocent until proven guilty .

By the way, Knight and Jeter disproved Drummond's theory that relay teammates must like each other, lest we forget Knight's not-so-subtle tweets last year when she failed to make the 200 team.

Jamaica and their supporters have nothing to be upset about. The girls ran well and set a national record. On this day, the American girls were just unbeatable.

This has been a great Olympics for track and field.

You self righteous punks. I will offer this to all the people accusing Jeter, SHE DID NOT WIN ONE INDIVIDUAL RACE! I will leave it at that and move on the to positive...

40.82!!!! Scoreboard!!! A good old fashioned butt kicking by a 4 some loaded with speed. I cannot wait to see it on the flat screen in HD tonight and celebrate all over again! Everything clicked and guess what, the same amount of practice was afforded these ladies as all the other teams. Well done ladies. First team under 41. Congrats to the JAM women on their national record.

I WAS going to say that but then didn't because I don't remember him pointing to the clock right as he's about to cross the line. Only after once he actually glances at the time.

I have never, not once made a negative baseless accusatory comment regarding the great Jamaican stars including Mr. Bolt(Who I completely agree with concerning the pure classlessness of all time great Carl Lewis...who I'd rather hear sing the National anthem than comment on today's sprinters) Blake, Powell, SAFP, VCB, etc. As a fan, I am so happy to watch them compete against the American greats...we all should just enjoy the many fabulous shows they give us!

But sadly, it seem to SOME Jamaican commentors here that if a Jamaican athlete does a spectacular performance he/she is a phenom, if an American makes a great performance(especially if they defeat a Jamaican athlete)...they're doping.

Truly pathetic.

Hopefully, they'll be on prime time tonight. Costas has yet to interview a single track athlete; we've been relegated to Mary Carillo after midnight, or Dan Patrick during the day.

Well I just mean post-race interview since I dropped to sleep by accident and missed all the live stuff from BBC. And when I checked my DVR, CTV didn't interview them.

Thank God I never set myself up for disappointment....

Madison on the first leg did not give SAFP ANYTHING AT ALL! SAFP didn't in any way shape or form make ANY impact on the Madison on lead-off.

Felix did what I expected from Felix... DEMOLISH the 2nd leg with Simpson running a great leg as well.... But Felix quite frankly SMOKED her.

VCB etched closer to Knight but Knight had the cushion to hold her off and ran a torrent 3rd leg as well. VCB ran the best leg I have ever seen her run there and she is definitely secure with the baton. That is WHERE SHE BELONGS!

Jeter got the baton and just lifted.... Kerron tried to keep up, to not give anything away but Jeter was just too good for her and started to get away from Kerron (not like she needed to).

All in all.... IMMACULATE, MASTERFUL and DESERVING win for the US....
JAM needs not be too disappointed either.... 41.41 NR, third fastest time ever for them....

Majestic post.

Gold medal quality.

Well for the record I am Jamaican and I would like to tip my hats of to the USA for stepping and delivering a superlative world record that is simply mind-boggling to digest for all the haters! They knew that they had the speed and the chemistry all they needed was good exchanges and boy did they deliver. As for the Jamaicans a super effort with a 50% fit quartet and my favourite athlete of all times VCB was just scintillating on the curve[congrats to all the Jamaican ladies]! The Jamaicans when all four was in prime condition did not master the craft and as such the USA with the ample speed at their disposal maximize their true potentials[Considering that Jeter began staring at the clock -would have certainly done 40.7] and decimated the East German highly speculated World record... now that is something to drink too. Kudos Yankees! Kudos indeed!

The the first two exchanges were so eye-popping to me, that when Felix passed to Knight I said aloud "they might get the record", but when Knight connected with Jeter, I knew the record was toast. Our women's relay team just filmed the most well-produced instructional video you'll ever see (Isn't NBC also broadcasting in 3D?). What I'm encouraged by is the fact that I know the Jamaicans are coming back, they won't take this lying down. They can match our footspeed, and to honest, they should have been the first sub-42 nation in 2008. This should make for some much faster relays in the future, now that the Jamaicans know that they will have to take their stick passing seriously if they want to run with us.

VCB said something golden, she said that she is happy for the US team and more importantly, happy for women. Tearing down this barrier was very important today

I like VCB's thinking. I think under the right conditions, Sally Pearson also has the ability to help out the women's cause.
