Re: 2012 OG: mPV–Anyone know what the increments to the auto qual of 5.70m will be?
Presuming, given conditions for jumps in stadium so far, quite a few could enter the comp a bit earlier than usual.
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–
5.20 - 5.35 - 5.50 - 5.60 - not sure if they'll include 5.65 or go directly to 5.70 edit: 5.65 included, makes sense Last edited by j-a-m on Wed Aug 08, 2012 3:27 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–Qualifying is over; 5.60 was enough, some get in with 5.50, for a total of 14 vaulters to advance.
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–Seems #1-9 made the final; only #10 Borges is out, at least he seemed to be fine after his pole snapped.
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to finalBorges had big height, it's too bad he missed out.
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to finalVery exciting to see Hooker vault successfully and with apparent ease. Maybe the yips have passed?
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to finalWalker had two misses at 5.50. Whew! 5.60 1st time -> final.
Cheers, Alan Shank

Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to final
and Otto 5.91; great competition now
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to finalSo much for Sports Illustrated not knowing anything by picking Holzdeppe to medal.
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to finalLavillenie 5.97 OR
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to finalLavillenie wins gold ahead of Otto and Holzdeppe
Re: 2012 OG: mPV–14 advance to finalGreat competition.
Re: ¶2012 OG: mPV–Renaud Lavillenie (France) 19-7 (5.97) ORI have absolutely nothing against the Germans but I was pulling for Lavillenie after seeing him be a good teammate at the Euros with Doucoure'-seems like a good guy.
Re: ¶2012 OG: mPV–Renaud Lavillenie (France) 19-7 (5.97) ORLast Euros podium repeats
Re: ¶2012 OG: mPV–Renaud Lavillenie (France) 19-7 (5.97) OROtto's second 5.97 just before Lavillenie's clearance was great, pity. Thrilling competition though progressing from 5.75 to 5.85 is very harsh considering the results this year.
Re: ¶2012 OG: mPV–Renaud Lavillenie (France) 19-7 (5.97) ORI live (mostly) in Germany and normally root for German athletes, but I was really pulling for Lavillenie. He has been the best vaulter of the past years and has missed out on major outdoor gold. (This year's "Europeans" doesn't count.) His clutch 5.97 on his last attempt was incredible. And he's such an enthusiastic competitor.
