All State-Capital Names Team

Postby Guest » Wed Jul 02, 2003 2:34 pm

With some assistance from T&FN's Ed Fox, while sitting in the stands at the USATF nationals, I came up with an "All State Capital Names Team." Inspired by the other thread on all-time great T&F names, I've decided to post the state capital team:

Tim MONTGOMERY (AL)
Carla SACRAMENTO (CA)
Ralph BOSTON (MA)
Colin JACKSON (MS)
Daniel LINCOLN (NE)
PIERRE (SD) Browne
Charles AUSTIN (TX)
RICHMOND (VA) Flowers

Can any of you think of any others?

Tianna Madison (Wisc)
Helena (Mont) Uusitalo
Trenton (NJ) Jackson
Dan Columbus (Ohio)

If the Russians still owned the Pacific Northwest perhaps you could accept Olympiada Ivanova? :-)

Santiago (Chile) Lorenzo. Oregon decathlete? I know Chile is not a state, but I wanted to add something here.

Brandon Rock. Trouble is nobody can claim that he often heard the shout, "Look at the Little guy coming up." According to the FAST Annual index, he stood 6-4.

>Trenton (NJ) Jackson <

Actually, gh, you should have said Trenton (NJ) Jackson (Miss.). He's the best of all--a DOUBLE capital name.
