don't count lemaitre out. he's a terrible starter and curve runner, but he finishes strong. being in lane 2 is better than 9, so he might sneak in for a bronze.

being in lane 2 is better than 9,

Psychologically, maybe; but as once analyzed in TFN, the outside lane has an immense technical advantage: looser curve is simply faster, it's simple Physics/Physiology 101; and there's lots less of it. If you don't have your head together in the Oly Final, you don't have it anyway. Tall LeMaitre, for whatever combo of Physical/Mental, won't do well tucked in there; and seeing Bolt soo far away will not exert any so-called Pull whatsoever.

BTW, you shouldn't make such statements as if they're a "given". Back it up with whatever logic or empirical data you can muster.

All I am saying is do not be surprised if only 1 Jamaican gets a medal. Its more possible than most people think!

You can't talk out of both sides of your mouth. YOU said it is VERY likely only one Jamaican will medal. Then you say you have Blake-Bolt-Spearmon as your top 3? So which is it? You're trying to set it up so that you are right no matter what happens (Skip Bayless, is that you?).

Who can beat Blake or Bolt ATK? It's going to take 19.3 or lower to do it.

Huh? I could care less if im right or not, its predictions.

Its like the womans 200m. Going into the race everyone pretty much agreed that Felix was the favorite and the likely winner. But I doubt anyone would have been surprised if VCB won the race.

Same concept applies here.
Blake and Bolt are the absolute favorites for 1-2. But if they falter and one of the other guys behind them pull out an amazing performance, don't be surprised.
To many people here are lost in the Jamaican Nationalism that they can see simple logic: Everything doesn't always goes as expected.

I'll bite, dammit.

Read your posts. Then tell us it's nationalistic.

You contradict yourself every time - no-one takes you seriously. Just as well you don't care. You're a joke with zero cedibility.

One more time - Bianca Knight. Still mute?

I heard that CL is dealing with a illness. Any truth to that?

I'm a big Lemaitre fan, he was my pre-games pick for bronze. But that lane is just too tough. If he beat Spearmon in the semi's I'd say he'd be fine.

Should go Bolt, Blake, Spearmon.

The BBC feed is real-time, the NBC feed is slightly delayed.

At least 0.05 left in the tank for Bolt, turned it off after 190.

Enjoy this people - we may not see his like again.

Great race. Two repeats today of former WRs (1:41.73 and 19.32 (+0.4) -- same wind, even!). Why did Bolt let off the gas at the end? He probably wouldn't have broken the WR, but could have knocked out a mid-19.2 maybe.

There's many things Bolt is; lucky is way down the list ('cept in picking his parents).

Bolt blazes to victory in 19.32

Blake second in 19.44

Weir third in 19.84

Jamaica 1 2 3
