That shows a fundamental misunderstanding of bio-mechanics. If they had started their 'kick' (you do understand that they are ALL running that last 100 slower than any other part of the race, yes?) sooner, they would have expended their energy reserves even sooner and had no ability to run the last 50 as quickly as they did. Sanya decelerated a little more than the others, because she executed a race plan that would get her a lead AND leave something left. O and DD could have stayed with SRR for 300, but then decelerated even more and SRR would have still won by the same amount.
While it's true that some (rookie) runners mismanage their energy reserves, SRR, DD and O all executed equally well (which is no surprise since they're all Championship veterans). 1-2-3 finished the way they 'should' have.
If there's any criticism to hand out, it's that the Russian ran too hard, too soon.
