Re: 2012 OG: w100–The morning session is 4 heats, 2+2, so ten will be sprinkled among the seven evening-session heats (according the the day-one program). Delphine Atangan of CMR actually has a PB of 11.24, but just 11.56 this year. Last year in Daegu, these "non-qualified" rounds were underwhelming.

Re: 2012 OG: w100–
I think she, like Bolt, can handle this race. However, I do not think they'll do as well in the 200, which used to be their forte. I could be wrong, and don't mind at all if I am; I just get the impression they're very vulnerable at the deuce.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
Okagbare ranked high in both 100 and LJ; interesting to see how she'll do in that double.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
Plus the 4X100 -- triple. Cheers, Alan Shank Woodland, CA, USA
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
I agree and i might be bias but i feel like is she VCB can just put together a proper championship 100m run from start to finish and win the 100m final it would be enough for me ,but she is not there to please me so whatever happens happens .may god bless her
Re: 2012 OG: w100–I hope VCB can win one event. She seems pretty happy in her interviews so I am guessing she like how things are going in her training.I am still mad she gave up that 200 gold tho.
VCB for the 100 and 200 for me even if she doesn't win gold she is still a true champion.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–12.24 is enough to advance from pre-prelims.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–Wow, who knew Iraq had a sub-12 woman(without looking up PRs)? I'm pleasantly surprised, and impressed.

Re: 2012 OG: w100–Looks like there was one National Record in the opening rounds.
Asenate Manoa of Tuvalu with a non-qualifying 13.48 (-0.2 wind).
Re: 2012 OG: w100–Unfortunately rain is in the forecast for the next 3 days.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
There won't be any rain during the semi's or finals. But there will for the mens's unfortunately
Re: 2012 OG: w100–Based on the Hep 100mh results the track is fast and the wind is good, but I guess that's the wind in the morning rather than the evening. Still sun outside which should make for decent conditions this evening.
When we had four rounds the quarterfinals tended to be much quicker, however last year in Daegu most athletes ran 11.1-11.3 to make it through to the semifinals.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–NBC just showed all four prelim heats in the morning show, but i doubt they will show all seven first round heats on the night show.
Btw the live streaming is working a lot better since the disaster of day one. I have been watching on the main screen and small screen a tactic I will use in a few hours when track and field and swimming overlap.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
I tried the two-screen set-up with track and throws this morning. But if the small screen went to commercials, it blacked out the big screen. I missed the first four minutes of Cabral's steeple heat because of the black out. Anyone else have this difficulty, and how have you solved it other than by opening two separate windows?
Re: 2012 OG: w100–10.96 in the first heat by KAB.... 0_o
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
Baptiste wins in 10.97, easing down....
Re: 2012 OG: w100–KAB 10.96 +0.4.
They said no track record will be broken
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
Really fast heat, probably 4th place finisher under 11.20 with only little wind.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–If these conditions continue tomorrow.... 10.6x will be what it takes to win...
Re: 2012 OG: w100–That 10.96 is not near Flojo's 10.49
Re: 2012 OG: w100–Wow, Jeter 10.83 (+1.5)

Re: 2012 OG: w100–CJ need to calm down 10.83 +1.5. She didn't let off the gas at all.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
Re: 2012 OG: w100–Anyone in the US getting no video (audio only) on the NBC site?
Re: 2012 OG: w100–That's one of the ten fastest times in Olympic history.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–Scratch that, it's one of the top five. I included Marion in that.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–That track is fast. VCB also sub 11 wind-legal.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
I was thinking the same thing.... She was running all out the whole way I think.... 10.94 +1.5 for VCB
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
HEY!!! Why is it that I always miss the good $#!+ when I'm at work? Fortunately I got my DVR going! I hope Shelly responds. I think the OR (and what many of us believe is the REAL WR) is going down. The wind gauge to Flo's 10.49 will be front and center in the debates that follow when this is over.
Re: 2012 OG: w100–
She's caught a good wind
Re: 2012 OG: w100–These are the fastest openning rounds.... EVER 0_o
Re: 2012 OG: w100–The wind coupled with the fast track I say 10.5x is possible. Especially when these sprinters are running sub 11's in the 1st round.
