¶2012 OG: w400–Sanya Richards-Ross (US) 49.55Re: 2012 OG: w400–Deedee trotter first rosemarie whyte second.....Jamaican eased up.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
I thought they both looked like they were working
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
Trotter nose-breathed the homestretch
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
Trotter did her normal race pattern (start slow finish fast thing). Whyte went out hard and seemed to be dying..... I think the both of these girls ran a bit too hard.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
SRR, with much the easiest heat.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–SRR. What beauty....sigh.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Richards-Ross looks as cut as I've ever seen her
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
Trotter looked fine to me; I actually thought it was McCorory in her heat who worked too hard.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
Agree on both points
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
That Somali girl looked like she'd completed a marathon.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Krivoshapska....YIKES!
Re: 2012 OG: w400–wow, unnecessary run from Krivoshapka, but that run looked low 49 for the first 320m
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
Under 36 at 300 . . .
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
Her last 100 was slower than the Somalis.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–
I agree.... That lane 8 draw did it I think. But that run... shows that she's ready...
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Novlene wins in a relaxed 50.88.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Kapa's run was ridiculously powerful- she didn't look to even be breathing hard as she went past...very scary!
Re: 2012 OG: w400–A few points.
Much as I love TBO she works my last nerve. FFS how hard is it to run through the line??? The USA strip is horrendous. Why are they wearing Haiti's kit (And extra arm jeggings don't help). WTF was Krivoshapka up to???
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Yeah, not sure if she went out that fast because she was in the outside lane, or because she wanted to make a statement.

Re: 2012 OG: w400–
Krivoshopka.... Not Kapachinskya...
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Regina George seemed really happy after winning her heat.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Krivoshapka's pushing wasn't to be unexpected as she hadn't competed since 6-July. She ran her 400m heat at her national champs in similar fashion -- out hard to a 50,05 qualifier.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–third fastest time in an Oly heat ever (Sanya 50.11 in Athens)

Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40Semi 1: SRR v Ohuruogu v Whyte v Gushchina
Semi 2: Montsho v McCorory v George v Day Semi 3: Krivoshopka v Trotter v Williams-Mills Hardest semi.... SRR... Fortunately she got the luck of the draw and got a lane 3 Last edited by t_monk on Fri Aug 03, 2012 5:11 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40Little q for the Guyanese runner means we have not seen the last days of Pompey.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40This was the draw I didn't want, SRR and CO in the same SF. That is definitely the tougher draw, although Guschina did struggle in round 1 so may not be the threat we thought
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40
With SRR right behind her, Gushchina is going get out fast I think and with being in a center lance she will be able to judge her race much better than the heats. I am guessing everyone is going to raise their game come the semi's and I expect CO, Whyte and Gushchina will make SRR work for it... Sub-50 in the semi finals for SRR me thinks.
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40
Yes, semi 1 probably the toughest, and 2 the easiest. Prediction for semi 1: SRR, Whyte, CO
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40
That's 4; they're not using lane one, apparently. GUshchina and KrivoshApka both went out fast; GUshchina did not finish well, I thought. Cheers, Alan Shank
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40
Give her the old Rod Dixon helmet cam and we'd get the View from Pompey's head!
Re: 2012 OG: w400–Montsho (Bot) Leads Round 1 at 50.40
Yeah but whose fault it that
