Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—Grabarz seems to be getting good height but his feet seem to tuck in so far it's starting to cause a problem as he gets higher. Is this going to limit him?
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
He's not optimizing his point of take-off or timing over the bar. Once he does that, he could go over 2.40m.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
Hope you're right, that would be amazing.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—Jesse was solid but both he and Grabarz needed 3 attempts at 2.33. Unfortunately I only caught one of Grabartz misses at 2,26. He can medal.
Very impressed by Drouin. He clearly belongs in that company. He beat Grabartz in London. But he brings his arms back before take-off too soon it seems.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
Both Williams and Grabarz looked very good when they got it right, and Grabarz was getting some series height at 2.33 and 2.36m. I think those two, plus the Russians, plus someone having a career day, could be very close in London and it may come down to countback. That's where Grabarz could be vulnerable to the more experienced guys. I didn't see any of Drouin's jumps but he does seem to be very consistent. (Also realize I may have put the jinx on with the 2.40m reference, the last guy who I made that pronouncement about was Jonas whose been injured ever since! I therefore withdraw the remark and hope the tosser simply makes the final
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—I think only Ukhov or Silnov (or someone having a career day) could stop the party for these two. I'm hoping for a classic in London.
From the couple of jumps the BBC deigned to show, Robbie and Jessie had high points way over 2.36. I'm really excited.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
you mean they've finally adopted the U.S. model of telecasting a meet?
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
Me too. I almost bought a ticket for the final a couple of days ago for $500, had second thoughts, changed my mind on the third thought and by then it was gone.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
Dear Lord, I hope not. No ad breaks though. I still haven't got over finding out how many ads US TV ran during Friends. Normally we get the same feed that Universal does. Don't be afeared for the OGs (are you announcing in the stadium GH?). We are getting wall-to-wall coverage and 24 channels dedicated to the Games. it was announced today that the coverage of the opening ceremony will start on national TV two hours BEFORE the ceremony starts. Back on topic, despite the stories about security, there won't be any chance of someone slipping some vodka into Ukhov's Lucozade.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
This is GOOD? Cheers, Alan Shank Woodland, CA, USA
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—Williams lift was exceptional in this meet. He looked fantastic.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
Jesse is under 6'2" and will have to perform exceptionally well to win in London. The great pressure of the OG usually translates to small errors in approaches to the bar with grave consequences for the smaller jumpers. I would love to see the small man win this one.
Re: Monaco DL: mHJ—
He's done it before and he can do it again. Holm was an inch shorter and won Athens. How tall do you want them?
