Lignano (July 17)

Not a lot of big action from this Italian meet, but some PRs in mid-distance

Jeff Riseley was mighty close to breaking Ralph Doubell's (very, very) longstanding national 800m record:
1. Job Kinyor KEN 1:44.39
2. Jeff Riseley AUS 1:44.48 PR
3. Tyler Mulder USA 1:44.75 PR

1. Gabrielle Anderson USA 4:04.84 PR (prev best 4:06.46)

New Serbian NR for Marina Munćan 4:06.48 just few days after Amela Terzić at World Juniors broke Munćan's previous record from Osaka WC.

also note:

Sheila Reid 4:07.07
Emily Infeld 4:07.77

Collegiate database shows these bests for each:
Reid 4:11.85 (2011)
Infeld 4:11.73 (2012)

I don't know if Reid has run faster outside NCAA competition, but in any case this is a promising time in her preparation for London 5k.

As for Infeld, if this is a PB for her, it's a big step forward after a long collegiate season.

She's run 4:07.77 and 4:07.88 this year

I think Reid has a similar time, maybe even marginally faster.

Thanks for the corrections re Infeld & Reid -- I usually try to look up everything before I post anything, but this time I didn't. So -- per IAAF lists -- Reid's PB was 4:07.77 (20 June), which means today's performance is a slight improvement in her PB. Emily Infeld has 4:08.96 (25 June), so this is a 1+ second PB. Not as significant as I thought, but both good, esp. considering how long they have been in competition this year.

Lolo Jones 12.85 +0.2
Derval O'Rourke 13.02
Yvette Lewis 13.08

Dobriskey 2nd to Anderson, 4:05.27
Looks like Molly Beckwith was a rabbit, or just DNF.
