Perri Shakes-Drayton just ran a major PR of 53.77 to equal the #2 time in the world and take down a pretty stacked field.

She won by nearly a second against the likes of Walker, Spencer and Davydova! Very impressive indeed. With that performance, she has undoubtedly catapulted herself from maybe making the final to one of the medal contenders.

Was worried that the very few appearances this summer were due to injuries. Well she said she's had niggles. Hopefully she'll pace her form to peak in three weeks though. Oh and if it rains like today she might go into the final as a favourite. British weather could become useful to our athletes.

An excellent run by PSD!

If the conditions remain the same for Stratford, surely she has to be a contender....
:D
Melaine and Kaliese were certainly not happy out there today.

After Jess, Perri is the face of the games here on UK, she's everywhere, mainly because Nike has invested in her heavily. If she wins or even medals in London she is going to CLEAN UP

She has been a very frustrating athlete over the past few years, we could all see the potential and new what she was capable of but were beginning to worry it may never happen, well it has :D and she will go from strength to strength, i expect BIG things in london and with no overwhelming favourite in this event, who knows !!

I was wondering - she'd improved her flat PB by half a second but it wasn't happening over the hurdles. As someone said, she's the face of the games and her picture's all over London. It's a 2.5 differential from flat to hurdles.

I still think Davydova, Rosolova, Walker, Antyukh and Demus are going to be very tough opponents, so I'm not going to hang a medal round her neck just yet, but she's put herself in contention with this run.

She's a great, bubbly, determined athlete which is why us Brits love her so much.

Great run from PSD, was gutted to have missed the race live as I arrived at the meet late from work, why did Friday night start so early? I would have thought they'd let working people get down to CP before starting the main programme - the UK has the longest working hours of the whole of Europe!!!

She looked strong the whole way around and kind of like TBO today, she committed early and it paid off at the end. I hope she takes the confidence from this weekend into London. Her previous PB is from a rounds situation so she could do it again.

She's got a personality which I love, she East London and you can see why Nike chose her for the majority of their campaign.

Spot on Mump, she's attractive, was dressed in street clothes today and looked amazing.

I think they start so early because it's really difficult place to get away from even though the new train line helps enormously (you'd think knowing thousands of people were leaving a certain time they would sync it with trains !!)

anyway to cheer you up here's Perri in civies
