Jamaica Olympic TrialsRe: Jamaica Olympic TrialsI was hoping it would have been Lee but the spoiler for this year is Bailey Cole who will certainly dip below 9.99 for a relay spot. Lee hasn't realized his full potential as yet but he'll get there soon.
And on that note, look for Warren Wier Versus Julian Forte for the third place battle with Ashmede. We're gonna see first to fifth clocking below 20.00. I like this setup.
Re: Jamaica Olympic TrialsThere is a wire report that a major sprinter is currently nursing an injury and may miss the semis today. Stay tuned.
Re: Jamaica Olympic Trials
Video quality was okay during yesterdays broadcast.
Re: Jamaica Olympic Trials
trackalerts tweeted last night: "Bad news from the warm-up area at #JAAASVLTrials a big name athlete is nursing an injury, which could rule him out of the meet #London2012" Is that the same "wire report" that you're referring to? People started speculating about the big three in the M100m, but the M400m was also run last night so it may very well be an athlete from the 1/4 mile.
Re: Jamaica Olympic TrialsWhat time are the ladies running their 100 semis today?
Re: Jamaica Olympic TrialsI'm expecting a slightly faster 100m than the us finals given bolt & the difference in weather.
Bolt 9.74 Blake 9.80 Asafa 9.88 Carter 9.94 Frater 9.95 Bolt will either have a bad start or will shut it down early, blake will run a hard race, asafa will do just enough to make top 3, and the other 2 will fight for the relay spot. I could be very wrong but I dont think theres been a more predictable outcome in a 100m final in a while. Its just a matter of how fast they will go.

I will try to find the link again. The report is very vague however. No specific name is mentioned.
Re: News Flash! BOLT IS INJURED AND OUT OF Jamaican trials
Stop spreading rumors.
Re: News Flash! BOLT IS INJURED AND OUT OF Jamaican trials
This is the only thing I found...but it doesn't say just a top male sprinter.. http://sportingalert.com/2012/06/report ... ca-trials/
Re: Jamaica Olympic TrialsJust joking... lol..
http://sportingalert.com/2012/06/report ... ca-trials/ Nobody actually mentioned as yet. Nothing on Twitter either. Text them and ask?
Re: Jamaica Olympic TrialsNobody mentioned?!? Not only didn'tja read the article itself (closely), which says it's not even sure it's a male sprinter, while stating that Bolt was amongst others qualifying, it links to this:
"Blake posted 10.00 seconds to win his heat over young star Kemar Bailey-Cole, who ran 10.12 secs for second and former national champion Oshane Bailey, who took third in 10.26. World record holder Usain Bolt was also in cruise control as he won his opening heat in 10.06, beating Jacques Harvey (10.15), Mario Forsythe (10.18) and Kimmari Roach (10.22). Michael Frater was third fastest and he won heat four in 10.09, defeating Commonwealth Games champion Lerone Clarke (10.15). JackaLoupe, the close-weeding Wabbit
Re: Jamaica Olympic TrialsHere's the lineup for the Semis, from links in the same article linked above.
Just kidding?!? Not LOL! "Yohan Blake and Asafa Powell have been drawn alongside each other in the semi-finals of the 100 metres at the Jamaica Nationals Championships to select its team to the London Olympics. The semi-finals and final are on Friday. Blake, the fastest from the preliminaries with a time of 10.00 seconds, will line up in lane four, while Powell, who clocked 10.19secs in his heat will be in lane three. Nesta Carter, the World Indoor silver medallist over 60m is also in the first semis and he will start from lane six. Jacques Harvey, who is favoured to make the final is also in the race along with Kimmari Roach. World record holder Usain Bolt will run from the second semi-finals and he will have the likes of Michael Frater and Lerone Clarke for company. Kemar Bailey-Cole and Rasheed Dwyer are also in semis two."
