Carter is running pretty sub-par this year so far. Frater has run a few races, in the 10.0+ range, Clarke has not be consistent. Powell has beat all three of them this year.

Ashmeade is probably the only one that will give him a run but I cant see him beating Powell.

When is the last time Powell lost to any of these athletes? Every time they race, Powell always comes out on top. He may be behind Blake and Bolt in both times and competition, but when it comes to straight competition against the lower tier Jamaicans, Powell has not and most likely will not loose to these guys.

You meant to say you don't see anyone out there right now who will knock Blake out of the third spot. Blake hasn't looked to good lately. He ain't beating a fit Powell this weekend. He couldn't beat Powell at the Championships last year when Powell got a horrible start.

Unexpected entries include Errol Nolan in the 400 and Tasha Stanley in the 800.Not sure about Nolan's eligibility given the fact that he ran for the USA at the 2010 World Juniors.

The year that Powell was out injured yes. And it was actually a championship final, that Powell would have probably won had he not been injured. There was no Gay, or Bolt in the race to make him choke. It was Powell's type of lineup.

Also Blake is still improving but he hasn't yet ran any times that adjusted or otherwise equal Powell's top times.

The young lady when questioned about the "pre-booked" tickets quickly muttered an excuse and hung up the phone, perhaps realizing that she had let something slip she really shouldn't have mentioned.

Not good JAAA, not good at all.

Hey, you are leaving out the part where you incited the angry mob to beat the poor bastard and dibby up the tickets amongst yourselves. How else did you know he had forty five tickets?

But this is the sport of Track & Field right, where the ability to train to peak form, maintain fitness represents 90% of the game and only 10% seen between the start and the Finish line....its the same sport right?

He couldn't go get them and force them to race him, they never brought themselves there, the sport is about bringing yourself to the start and see it through to the finish line...you race who you see.

I saw that on TVJ news last night. It was utter chaos. That "underground" booking system only known to "some people" was also mentioned on the news. Pure slackness.

I thought they would run in 2008, but I was wrong. Americans run hard to the finish line in the Olympic Trials regardless of how dominant they are.

Does it really matter how Bolt runs as long as he wins?

Only a person who only cares about the sprints would agree this statement. The U.S. Trials lags behind the Olympics because of the women's field events and the men's javelin, discus and hammer, but the Jamaican trials are weak in everything except the sprints, the long jump the women's middle distance and maybe the decathlon. Do the Jamaican Trials even have a women's pole vault or javelin throw?

Fortunately, 95% of the posters on this board only care about the sprints.

Yes it does...the world esp. his competitors will be watching to see any flaws or weakness that they can exploit...he needs to send a BIG message to especially the mouthy Gatlin to zip him up 8-)

JWiz seems to think I was making the whole thing up. There was a report in yesterday's Star newspaper that the third person in line, who had waited 3.5 hours for the booth to open, couldn't get season tickets; corroborating what I had written. It has emerged that the season tickets were never available to the general public at any cost and were all allocated (and most dispensed) last week through private arrangement with the JAAA.

I will be signing up first thing in the morning.

Sportmax was scheduled to stream the meet for free. However, a contractual dispute forced it to abandon its plans.

Be happy at least you can still watch the entire meet live.
