Frank Shoter article

Postby MJD » Wed Jul 02, 2003 2:42 am

"I didn't give up in Montreal when I saw I wasn't going to win. Running on
a broken foot, in the rain, almost not having gotten to the start? In a sense,
it might have been a better performance (than Munich).

"On the other hand, am I at peace with Montreal? Hell, no.""

Thanks for the article! Just reinforces my belief that Frank Shorter was the best US Marathoner in history. 8 Marathons of 2:12 or better in the early 70's!!! And what should have been two Olympic Golds.

You the man Frank!
