No idea, is there a cut off point before he has to choose? I could only imagine that he knows he wouldn't be a sure for London if he ran for the US, so he probably have a good reason for not wanting to represent Nigeria, which I respect a lot.
I'm confused here... why is USATF asking for a release from Nigeria if according to the last sentence of the article, it's not necessary. However, he did compete for Nigeria in Berlin 2009, which was on August 23, 2009 (where Morton ran 46.58 3rd leg for Nigeria), and therefore won't be 3 full years until after the Olympics... Is this why USATF is asking for the release, or are there other politics involved?
