Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?Noticed Bronwyn Crossman is missing from the 10K entry list!!
Is she injured or sick?? She ran 33:18 in April, and HAD been entered! I ask because she's one of at least 4 athletes from my home town of Bellingham WA. Sophie Curl Mason McHenry Becca Friday And Bronwyn!! Well, duhhhhh!! Shoulda looked before I typed!! McHenry's missing too!!! What happened to HIM?? Well, I guess two outta four ain't TOO bad!!
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?Verrrrry nice win for Rogers of Texas A&M, with a huge PR.
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?Add 6 to A&M's predicted scoring here. Huge win (and a breakout year) for Rogers.
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?First quarter of the race - Maier had the lead with Rogers comfortably in second, lead group down to about 12.
Second quarter - Rogers in the lead. Third quarter - Maier in the lead, with Rogers and Tuliamuk in second and third. Last quarter - Rogers in the lead. Major move with a bit less than 5 laps to go, reducing lead group from 8 to 4. Those four stayed together until the last lap, Rogers kept the lead, and noone was able to follow her. Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier? The field went back up to almost 20 as a group reconnected after the prolonged slowdown (did they hit 5:05 for 1600meters?) in the 3rd, 4th, 5th kilos?
Blue-collar gal Caitlin Comfort held on until the acceleration at 8km and could not quite hold on to score. Rogers killed the finish. Interesting, she lead a quick 15:45 pace 5000 with Kosinski who then blew by her the last 600-800 or so and won by maybe 10 seconds.
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?Kosinski? Did you mean Maier or Tuliamuk?
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?
This seems to be a reference to a meet earlier this season, which was hosted by Oregon and included the Aggies. Rogers and Kosinski ran the 5K, Rogers had the lead for most of the race, but then Kosinski ran away from her. Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier? If Allie Woodward is still a junior, then she moves to #3 on the US list.
Number 63 on the 2012 D1 list prior to the NCAA meet. Fastest times for 3,4,6-10 in meet history.
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?
Woodward is a FROSH!! She ran a 9:31 3K in the PanAm Jrs last July while still listed as a HS'er!! Also, she's listed as a Frosh in the T&FN Formsheet above!! OOPS!! MEA CULPA!!! I thought you were referring to her CLASS in school, not her AGE....when you said she's a "junior"!!! Very sorry!!!
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?Woodward is indeed still juniors-eligible
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?
Which is zackly why T&FN always uses the upper-case Junior to refer to the age (vs class) grouping.
Re: NCAA w10,000—Tuliamuk or year-leader Maier?
Yes, and along the way she has rewritten the Aggie record books. I believe she now owns every school record from 1500 to 10K.

Re: ¶NCAA w10,000—Natosha Rogers (Texas A&M) 32:41.63
Interesting to get such a fast time off of a pace that languished in the middle. There was a big group that had been distanced by up to 100m that not only did not fall back further, but actually joined back (only to be dusted within half a lap as they picked up the pace again) -- that was a 20-30 difference -- of course they would not have closed so fast without the easing. [And, yes, I was referring to the earlier meet, wherein Kosinski shocked people with her time and finish.]
