Did anybody manage to buy tickets using a credit/debit card from a UK bank via the Biletix site?

I've tried and keep getting an error message in Turkish, which when put through google translate seems to mean something like 'card not defined'. I've tried using a mastercard and a visa debit card and got the same message. Did anybody else have trouble?

Not from a UK bank, but I used my Mastercard, and had no problem buying the tickets.

Your wish has partially come true. Both Asafa and VCB are running indoors this year. Asafa as committed to run the WIC as well.

There's one mediocre/non-famous athlete who shares the name we have in mind for a girl, but I'm saying no more...

Our baby girl, Amelie Jayne, was born a week ago today (right on the due date).
And in case anyone was wondering, had she been a boy, we'd have called her Daniel (as in Komen!)

So, how many of you will be in Istanbul for the WIC?

Poor Jon, by the time he has attended to domestic baby needs AND sorted out the problems on AW Message Board stopping log in to the site, he may not have the time for going to Istanbul. :)

Jamaica just announced its team for the WIC and the list is headed by Veronica Campbell.

Watch out Tiana Madison. VC will defend her 60m title vigorously. VC is a great championship runner and barring a "poor start", I expect VC to win in Istanbul.

notorious, if she gets beaten here you cannot forecast her winning in London, you have to just wait and cheer. By the way, I give her a 5-10% chance of getting a FS, depending on which start she uses and what the officials are calling.

I am so used to you being "Mr. Negativity" when it comes to Jamaican athletes, I try as much as possible to ignore your posts.

usually usatf, iaaf and olympic meets are called a lot more tightly than the us open in the MSG or some other odd invitational so the change of FS for her or any of the other contenders could be closer to 20 % for a FS in any the three rounds that are scheduled to be run.

Fine, but you should know that I guessed (ahead of time in a message to another poster and gave the reason why) that Bolt would false start in the 100 Final.

I disagree that the top runners have that high a probability of FS; if so, we would see one typically each round, which we do not. Further, the likelihood in the early rounds is lower as they are not 'redlining' as much. The FSs in earlier rounds occur for the runners who have a low likelihood, as they have to pull out all the stops to hope to get to the next round.

"Aleen Bailey will contest the 60m along with Campbell-Brown, Vonette Dixon and Natasha Ruddock will run in the hurldles, while Patricia Hall and Dominque Blake will run the 400m. Triple jumper Kimberly Williams is the only field event athlete named. On the men's side, Nesta Carter, a finalist in Doha, will compete in the 60m along with Clarke while hurdlers Richard Phillips and Eric Keddo were also named."

Asafa just wasn't "fast enough" to make to team. He was only 3rd in Birmingham being Clarke and Carter.

One of the ESPN guys (I think it was Lewis Johnson) said Timmons was going to Istanbul as a "strong favorite". I don't think so.

Jamaica's Lerone Clarke has been the impressive 60m runner this season. No way he loses to Kimmons in Istanbul even though Kimmons has a faster time(6:45 to 6:47)

haha this guy is a glutton for punishment with his ridiculous predictions (no way bolt and fraser lose the 100 meters in daegu and both did not even medal in those events).
to me kimmons, clarke, gatlin and carter are the medal favorites and are very closely matched. clarke beat both americans in arkansas, but that by the world indoor final it will be four weeks from that race and a lot can change in four weeks. i would not be surprised if those four finish in positions 1 thur 4 in any order.

USA v JAM season seems to come around quicker every year! :o

Sally Pearson hasn't run in the 60H for a few years, but is aiming at the WR.

''We're using [the Melbourne Track Classic and Olympic trials] more as a training run to get ready for the world indoors," Pearson said.

''If all goes well I should be able to cross the line [at the world indoors] in maybe 7.70 sort of time [for the 60 metres hurdles], which is quite exciting because the world record is 7.68.''

"Hopefully I am in 12.5 [shape] in Melbourne or even faster and then heading on to the world indoors and see what I can do there."

Really? I would rate your two biggest guarantees where Bolt and VCB in the 100m events. O for your top two means that 'most of the time' is either meaningless or misappropriated. My apologies if I mis-remember your biggest predictions (I guess I would add Bolt 200 and JA 4x100 and they got one of two there, so you are getting a bit closer, but those two stood out to me).

i dont have the time to go back to last year's posts, but u only got three right (bolt and vcb in the 200 and men's 4 x 1) after predicting numerous jamaican wins.
it seems like u jump the gun easily. if u were a sprinter you would have plenty of DQs !

aacording to the iaaf website there are 35 athletes (33 are only eligible to compete since us and uk have entered 3 but only 2 are allowed per nation) in the men's 800. without semis i dont know how they will advance people to a 6 man final. i would guess that there would be 3 heats with 6 people and 3 heats with 5 people. a total of 6 heats means only the winner in each makes the final. i bet there will be a lot of pushing and falls !

saw that added the semis where the women's 4 x 4 heats were supposed to take place. no heats for the women's mile relay since only 6 nations entered teams.
