Bolt could lose to100m to Blake..so gold or silver. He will win the gold in the 200m He will win the gold in the 4x1, if Jama doesn't......drop the stick/get DQed If he runs a leg.....and they could just plug him in the final.....he will medal.
How's he doing right now, what meets he's in........none of that matters.
Blake will have to run a sub 9.6 to seriously challenge Bolt in London on that super fast track. if Blake happens to run 9.6 Bolt will run 9.4 high or low 9.5. Whatever Blake runs, Bolt will win by at least .1
if the temperature at the time of the 100m final is 19C it will be pretty freakish; far more likely at 13/15 C with a non favourable or over favourable wind. Reasonable chance of rain.
The track was NOT designed to be super fast; more a compromise beteeen the preferences of the long distance runners and the sprinters.
However if the sprint fans want to believe in a 9.6 100m time thats OK; just very unlikely
The makers of the track said it is like bejing's track but faster!!! Not sure if this is the article, but i read it last yr. abt them stating this track is very fast.

If he decides to “skip” a lowkey meet to go for a doctor checkup, I believe it is his business and no need for us to question it. He has been seeing his German specialist doctor for years. Go and research this.
How things change...was it just two years ago that Asafa was part of a process that ended up at the Fair Trading Commission because he pulled out of a meet (I believe it was the Grace Jackson) days before the event because of injury? People were upset then because they bought tickets for the meet because Asafa was scheduled to run, but now Bolt can do the same thing and "it's his business" and folks are wrong to ask questions?

Bolt says everything is good and he is expected to run in the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m this Saturday at the Gibson Relays at the National Stadium in Kingston.
I hope this now puts to rest the aimless speculation about him being injured.

Absolutely not.
Look everyone says the track is very fast, Coe, England, etc. I if u don't want to believe it fine but the track is very fast period.
So, can we write Bolt's record obituary if he only runs 9.7 or, horrors, 9.8 this summer because he is on the fastest track on the fastest stage and if that is all he can muster, then his peak days are done....
Are people normally this wild with their predictions on this forum ?
YES, they are this delusional ! it is unlikely that the track laid down is not going to be fast, but the conditions (temp and wind) will not be conducive to any record breaking performances.
Greene told that track in London is very fast too. We will be sure 100% when beging OG of course.
We will see the shape of Bolt when he begins his season in 100. If he gets 9.9 he will be in shape of 2010-2011 and he did 9.76 with very bad start in brussels. If he gets 9.8 in his first races he could get 9.7 in the season and perhaps 9.6 in London with good weather and wind.
As stated b4 if the makers said the track is made with similar materials to Beijing's track and is faster with even better technology. Why is this so hard to understand. Nobody has to run on the track to know if it is fast or not based on what the makers said, but it was validated by ppl who ran on the track and said it felt fast (eg. England, Coe).
Well, because you have to take what people in those positions say with a grain of salt.
But, let's give you that, and if Bolt runs a mere 9.57 there it is a sign that he peaked in 2009 and is on the downward slide apparently illustrated by his performances since 2009.
Similar materials -- does that mean in exactly the same proportion/manner? Maybe the track is 'tuned' a little differently so that it is better for middle distance and distance, areas where the Brits have been relative better for the last half century or more.

It's not just them it is the DESIGNER of the track. He says its fast. They build it to accommodate both sprinters and long distance runners. Here is the link http://youtu.be/w6o97L_yl9I. Feel free to criticize again sigh

That is exactly what I meant - he is supposed to say "we made a track that would be reliable and yield results that are not way to fast so that the sprint times would not be outliers..."...
I am not too worried about him just yet because he is Bolt... That being said... If this continues on to the Jamaica International Invitational track meet... I will be VERY concerned.

Agreed. If he doesn't run on May 5 then there is definitely a problem. As of now, i will take coach mills word that he is not injured.

I don't buy that he's not injured. I think he is either injured (something minor I am hoping) or just feeling something and Glenn Mills don't want to push him. Mills wouldn't allow Bolt to just miss meets like that.
For one it is bad for business in a sense for Bolt or any star athlete to just be pulling out of meets, it makes Bolt and his management team seem just plain flaky or disrespectful unless there is a genuine reason.
Two these meets are actually important (or at least that's what I would think) to just get the rusts out, to see how you are and to just get yourself out there. One can argue of course that he is part of Racers that have some of the best track athletes between 100 and 400, that being said though there is nothing like an ACTUAL competition.
And another thing to note... If he is actually intending on running the 4x400, he would need to run some 400's or 4x400's. I would think running these meets would help make the argument for him be even more overwhelming to get him on that 4x400.
I believe it is just a nice PC excuse. However, I am not too concerned. If he misses his meets in May(Jamaica Invitational and Rome DL then, I will be very concerned since the Olympic Trials are in June.
I repeat, if in his first 100m on the season he gets around 9.91 like in 2011, he will be only 90% this year and "only" will get 9.7 this year. If he gets around 9.80-9.85 in his first 100m, he can get sub 9.7 this year
I'm 85 percent sure that bolt is injured in some way shape or form. Even if its just a niggle, they just don't want to let the public know so it won't cause an outburst. Bolts business is track, his job is to compete. But like someone said, he is Bolt so even if he is not in top form, he will still pull out great races relative to the competition.
I dont think that Bolt is injuried. But perhaps Bolt is having some little problems in his back or in his shape so they dont want have a possible injury running now.
I think this is funny discussing Bolt's injured or not injured because i feel when May comes around and he fires a 9.7, then this will be all forgotten.
