Re: meanwhile back in the old west....Ah yes the best of the west! A cold hearted killer and a blow hard egotistical, suicidal general. Who's next? Butch Cassidy and the kid? Personally I prefer Al Swearengen (c-skr supreme).
Re: meanwhile back in the old west....One week...
Billy the Kid then... Jesse James Wyatt Earp John Wesley Hardin Bat Masterson The Dalton Gang The Younger Gang Butch Cassiday & the Sundance Kid Doc Holliday Calamity Jane Wild Bill Hickok Those lesser knowns that we all need to find out about. Good stuff!
Re: meanwhile back in the old west....Then top it off on Sunday with the season finale of Hell on Wheels
That final scene last week, whoa...
Re: meanwhile back in the old west....Lord I hope they don't bleep the one on Calamity Jane.

Re: meanwhile back in the old west....Not a Boy/Girl Scout in the line up.
Re: meanwhile back in the old west....Speaking of Calamity Jane, the wife and I finally got "Deadwood" from Netflix. It took me 2 episodes to get used to the language, and my wife 5-6. Now she loves to use the cskr word when someone drives badly, and with a british accent. I'm calling her Calamity Jen.
Re: meanwhile back in the old west....The Billy The Kid thing was pretty well done, I thought. Has me looking forward to the Custer episode.
Re: meanwhile back in the old west....Whether by design or accident, the documentary also portrayed Billy as right-handed, not falling for the left-handed trap that many have fallen into because the only picture of him in existence turns out to be reversed.
Re: meanwhile back in the old west....
I agree they did a good job. Especially addressing the specific myths as they "shot them down." They picked the perfect guy for the voiceover in Michael Murphy. His calm but resonant voice sounded like someone's Grandfather relating the story as he had seen it play out himself firsthand. Thanks for the heads-up, BTW. .
